As part of a strategic initiative to drive brand growth and market penetration, Mukund was appointed to establish and lead the Media and Communication department at Gopal Snacks. Tasked with building a robust brand presence in a highly competitive FMCG sector, his mandate included media planning, public relations, and strategic alliances.
September 2018 – September 2021
At PDEU, Mukund brought his industry expertise into academia, focusing on preparing future media professionals with practical knowledge and strategic thinking. His role spanned teaching, consulting on institutional media projects, and conducting research on audience engagement and media influence.
January 2011 – September 2018
Mukund was responsible for driving The Indian Express Group’s presence in Gujarat, focusing on expanding regional sales, streamlining operations, and fostering high-level industry relationships. He led the Ahmedabad branch, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic vision while maximising market reach.
April 2010 – January 2011
Tasked with launching MINT in the Ahmedabad market, Mukund led a comprehensive marketing strategy that encompassed brand positioning, customer acquisition, and operational management, reporting directly to the National Sales Head and COO.
October 2008 – March 2010
Mukund’s consulting roles included advising on educational projects, regional marketing, and institutional assessments, bringing his expertise to government and private initiatives. His clients ranged from the Government of Gujarat’s educational programmes to private sector firms in technology and media.
January 2006 – June 2008
Tasked with establishing and consolidating Business Standard’s Gujarati Edition, Mukund led strategic marketing and operational initiatives aimed at expanding readership in Gujarat. Working closely with the organisation’s top management, he managed end-to-end brand operations, from initial launch to market integration, ensuring the publication’s alignment with local audience needs.
September 1994 – December 2005
Over an 11-year tenure, Mukund led the Rajkot sub-office, driving brand initiatives that extended The Times of India’s influence in upcountry markets. His leadership was characterised by community engagement and innovative customer-centric campaigns.
